Ty "Patches" Smith is a Senior Product Manager at Hashgraph, directing the roadmap for Hedera's consensus and tokenization services and spearheading AI-native features. He co-authored Hedera Improvement Proposal HIP-991 to enable simple monetization of on-chain compute, led the Long-Term Scheduled Transactions upgrade, and helped launch the open-source Hedera AI Agent Kit linking autonomous agents to on-chain functions.
Prior to Hashgraph, Ty founded Turtle Moon and co-founded Hgraph, delivering the Hedera ecosystem's first NFT minting tools, DAO governance infrastructure, GraphQL APIs, and token-gated metaverse portals. Earlier in his career, as CTO of oVertone Haircare, he scaled the platform seven-fold, demonstrating broad technical leadership. A frequent conference speaker, Ty champions verifiable consensus, human‑centric UX, and "agentic AI" to advance mainstream Web3 adoption.
